Abstract
Early reading ability is a basic skill that must be mastered by first-grade elementary school students as a foundation for early literacy in recognizing letters, words, and initial sentences. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing learning videos on the early reading ability of first-grade elementary school students in Linge. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects of the study were first-grade elementary school students in Linge, Central Aceh. Data collection was carried out through an early reading ability test before (pretest) and after (posttest) the implementation of learning videos. Data were analyzed using the percentage of learning completeness and N-Gain calculations. The results showed that the average student learning outcomes reached 89% and were declared complete in early reading abilities. The N-Gain score was above 0.5 which is included in the medium to high category, which indicates a significant increase in students' reading abilities. These results indicate that the implementation of learning videos has a positive impact on improving the early reading outcomes of first-grade elementary school students, both in terms of learning completeness and increasing reading comprehension.
