Abstract
This study aims to describe the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in improving the quality of teachers and educational personnel at UPTD SMPN Satu Atap 1 Pesawaran. The background of this study stems from the ongoing low quality of national education and the need for schools to develop a sustainable quality management system. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, involving school principals, vice principals, teachers, students, and stakeholders as informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and were subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that quality planning is carried out participatively through the formulation of the school’s vision, mission, values, and quality roadmap. Quality implementation takes place through active supervision, continuous training, the establishment of a quality team, and collaborative leadership. Quality evaluation is conducted at multiple levels through daily, semester-based, and annual mechanisms as the foundation for continuous improvement. The study concludes that TQM principles have been adaptively implemented in accordance with the local context despite limitations in facilities and resources.
