Abstract

This study aims to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) to enhance reading literacy skills among fifth-grade students at SDN 01 Taman Asri. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes five systematic stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 30 fifth-grade students. Data collection instruments included expert validation sheets, teacher and student practicality questionnaires, and reading comprehension tests. Validation results from content, design, and language experts indicated that the LKPD was in the "excellent" category. Practicality tests showed that the LKPD was easy to use and engaging and facilitated students’ understanding of reading materials. Effectiveness tests significantly increased students’ reading literacy scores, particularly in literal, inferential, and evaluative comprehension. These findings align with previous studies that highlight the effectiveness of PBL in promoting students' critical thinking, collaboration, and text comprehension skills. The developed LKPD meets the three essential criteria of educational media-validity, practicality, and effectiveness-and supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes active, contextual, and student-centered learning aligned with strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile. Therefore, the PBL-based LKPD developed in this study can be an innovative teaching material to improve the quality of Indonesian language instruction in elementary schools.
