Abstract

This research aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) on the topic of energy transformation to enhance the problem-solving abilities of fourth-grade elementary school students. This study employed Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The subjects were 34 fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 02 Bumi Agung, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires (media, material, language), practicality questionnaires (teachers and students), as well as pretests and posttests. The developed PBL-based LKPD was declared highly valid, with average percentages from media experts (91%), material experts (91.5%), and language experts (94.5%). Its practicality fell into the highly practical category, with teacher response rate of 92.04% and student response rate of 88%. Effectiveness was demonstrated by an increase in average scores from pretest (55.91) to posttest (84.58), an N-Gain of 0.66 (medium category), and a significant paired sample t-test (p=0.000). The developed PBL-based LKPD is empirically proven to be valid, practical, and effective in improving the science problem-solving abilities of fourth-grade elementary students.
